How to Play Hearts
The goal
Avoid collecting hearts (1 point each) and the Queen of Spades (13 points). Lowest score wins. A game ends once someone reaches 100 points — whoever has the lowest total at that point wins. If there's a tie for lowest, one more hand is played to break it.
Passing
Before most hands, you'll choose 3 cards to pass to another player. The direction rotates: left, then right, then across, then a hand with no pass at all — then it repeats.
Playing a trick
Whoever holds the 2♣ leads the first trick. You must follow the suit that was led if you can. Hearts can't be led until a heart has been played in an earlier trick ("hearts broken"), and nobody can play a heart or the Queen of Spades on the very first trick unless they have nothing else to play.
Shooting the moon
If one player manages to collect every heart and the Queen of Spades in a single hand, they "shoot the moon" — instead of taking 26 points, they subtract 26 from their own score, and everyone else gets 0 for that hand.
Playing with bots
Pick how many human players you want (1–4) — any remaining seats are automatically filled with bots so you can always play a full 4-seat table. Choosing 1 player starts a practice game against 3 bots right away. Bots are named randomly each game and play at a fixed difficulty for now.
Inviting others
When you create a game with more than 1 player, you'll get a short join code and link. Share it however you like — or fill in an email box for a seat and it'll be sent automatically. Anyone with the code or link can sit down at an open seat.
